FREE! Annapolis Walking Tour

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you require a reservation for your FREE! Annapolis Walking Tour?

Yes, in order to ensure the highest quality for our walking tours the size of the group is limited, usually 2-8 people. Contact information can be found on the owner’s website and you can check on tour availability via email , phone, or text.

Do you offer your tour every day?

No, I m retired and also a travel writer, so I only do one or two tours a week when I am in Annapolis. Because I only do the tours when I really want to do them, the experience is truly special.

Will we stop and see the top historic sites on the tour?

YES! We will stop at ALL of the top attractions in the downtown Historic Landmark District. But I will not load you down with a lot of names and dates. Instead, I will tell you an interesting story about each place.

Do you do the same tour each time?

Every tour is unique. We will cover the same ground each time, but I am a performer and story teller, so I really don’t know what I will focus on. It will depend on you. I will try and focus on the aspects of Annapolis that I think you would be most interested in, and we go from there. I like to say my tour is like jazz music; I never know where it might take us.

What time does your FREE! Annapolis Walking Tour leave, where is the meeting point, and is the tour weather dependent?

We leave at eleven on winter mornings and ten on summer mornings (check the website for updated starting times). The starting point is at the Alex Haley/Kunta Kinte park down at the city dock.  The website provides more detailed directions.  We do not offer the tour if it is raining, snowing, or there is lightning. The owner will text you if the tour has been canceled.

What is the average distance and duration of your FREE! Annapolis Walking Tour?

We walk along the waterfront and then through the heart of the Historic Landmark District, covering 2 miles (3.2 K) in about 2.5 hours.  We have a short break at the halfway mark at the Old Fox Book Store, where there is a bathroom, a small coffee shop, and Annapolis’ best bookstore.
